JULY 1914 - MIXED WEATHER


Wednesday 1st

Another scorcher

Friday 3rd

Rain to day & much colder. Bought pair of trousers for work. Flo paid us a visit. Ern gone on his Beano to Clacton.

Saturday 4th

Turned out a better day. Mother has gone to Southend for a week.

Sunday 5th

Been to Ern’s for dinner & tea. After dinner I & Bill went Boating on the sea. Went to the Alcargary in the evening. Wet nearly all day.

Monday 6th

It has been like an April day to day. Finished my set of rooms by breakfast time. 3 coats taken me 51 ½ hrs.

Tuesday 7th

Went on the Brown to day

Saturday 11th

Mother returned to day. Had a good time. Went to Branch meeting.

Sunday 12th

Rained heavily before dinner but turned out very hot in the evening. Went down Edmonton to Pymnes Park. Met Bill there & he walked back with me to Seven Sisters Corner.

Monday 13th

Very Hot to day.

Saturday 18th

Ernest Townsend & his wife arrived for a weeks holiday. Took them & Ethel to the White City.

Sunday 19th

Took Ernest round the West End to show him about. Ern & Flo came up & Aunt Emily.

Monday 20th

Had to go & get Uncle John out of his muddle. He has been painting his room.

Wednesday 22nd

Met our visitors at Charing X & went to the Lyceum Theatre & saw the Belle of New York. Aunt Emily & her friend was with us.

Saturday 25th

Visitors left to day. Branch meeting to-night.

Sunday 26th

Went down to Edmonton to Ern’s to tea. Had a walk after

Monday 27th

Letter from Florrie saying she is not coming to London.
