Netley = Probably Netley Hospital near Southampton, a major military hospital, which recieved casualties from France.
ReplyDeleteNetley Hospital was a repository for alchoholic sailors in the 60's and 70's (and probably before). 3N messdeck on County Class Destroyers was affectionately referred to as 3 Netley.
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt was an army nurse at Netley in the 60's just before it closed down.
